How much does a UK summer school cost in 2027?
Real 2027 prices from UK boarding-school summer courses: typical weekly costs, what's included, the extras to budget for and how to compare fairly.
WBS · Updated 21 October 2026

Prices for UK residential summer schools vary more than most parents expect — mainly because some quote per week, some per two-week block and some for the whole stay, and because "what's included" differs. We compared every course on our site to give you a realistic picture for 2027.
The short answer
For a residential course including tuition, full board, activities and excursions, expect roughly £1,700 to £2,400 per week for most courses. Across the 54 courses on our site with a published fee, weekly prices range from about £1,200 to £2,700, and the middle of the range is about £1,950 per week.
Very short courses (for example a 4-day London trip) cost more per day.
Examples of confirmed 2027 fees
These come from the official 2027 price pages for each course and are shown on our course pages:

Young Explorers, Dragon School Oxford (ages 8–12) | £2,995 day / £4,095 residential per 2 weeks |
Fees for many other schools are still being confirmed for 2027 — our course pages show the latest available details and say clearly when they are from an earlier year.
What's usually included
Most residential courses include:
- tuition (typically 15–25 hours a week) and course materials
- boarding accommodation and all meals
- laundry
- afternoon activities, evening events and most excursions
- a certificate and end-of-course report
- airport transfers on the main arrival and departure days, within set hours
What's often extra
Check the "not included" list on each course page. The extras we see most often are:
- airport transfers outside the set days, times or airports (for example £150–£200 each way)
- optional specialist activities such as flight simulator, tennis or fashion design
- exams such as Cambridge English, if taken during the course
- insurance — included on some courses, not on others
- an extra night with a host family if flights don't match the course dates
How to compare fairly
- Convert every fee to a weekly price (we do this automatically when you filter by budget).
- Add any transfers or optional activities you'll need.
- Check how many hours of tuition are included — 15 hours and 25 hours a week are very different courses.
- Look at room sizes (some courses use rooms for 2–5 students).
Does booking through WBS cost more?
No — you pay the school's published fee. [WBS to confirm wording.]
